Three rings, three comebacks
Super Bowl LIV: 21 points in the fourth quarter
In Miami Gardens, San Francisco led 20-10 after a Raheem Mostert touchdown late in the third quarter. Mahomes then threw a 1-yard touchdown to Travis Kelce with 6:13 left and a 5-yard score to Damien Williams with 2:44 left, and Williams sealed it with a 38-yard run.
Mahomes finished 26 of 42 for 286 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, and he also ran for a 1-yard score in the first quarter. It was the franchise’s first title in 50 years, and at 24 he was the game MVP.
Super Bowl LVII: down 24-14 at halftime
Mahomes came into this game as the 2022 AP MVP, and Philadelphia still led by 10 at the half in Glendale. Kansas City scored 24 points after the break: an Isiah Pacheco touchdown run, then short touchdown passes to Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore.
After the Eagles tied it at 35, Harrison Butker kicked a 27-yard field goal with eight seconds left. Mahomes was efficient, 21 of 27 for 182 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, and he ran for 44 yards. He was 27.
Super Bowl LVIII: the overtime finish
San Francisco went up 10-0 in the second quarter in Las Vegas. The teams traded scores late, and Butker’s 29-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation tied it at 19. The 49ers kicked a field goal in overtime to go up 22-19, so Mahomes needed a touchdown.
He got it with a 3-yard pass to Mecole Hardman, and Kansas City won 25-22. He threw for 333 yards, ran for 66 and became a back-to-back champion at 28, the first repeat winner since New England took Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX.

Against Tampa Bay, the Chiefs’ only points were three field goals, and Tom Brady collected his seventh ring. Four years later Kansas City went for a third straight title and trailed Philadelphia 24-0 at halftime. Mahomes threw all three of his touchdowns in the second half, too late to change the result.
Add the five games together and Mahomes is 128 of 196 for 1,328 yards, 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in Super Bowls, plus 197 rushing yards on 33 carries. In the three wins alone he went 81 of 115 for 801 yards, 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
